Blessed Winter Solstice / Yule

This year the Winter Solstice will be on December 21st at 10:59 A.M. Eastern time this year. The sun will move into the sign of Capricorn at 10:59 am and the moon moves into Leo at 4:54 pm Eastern time and once again the wheel of the year will turn and a shift in the Earth will commence. This year seems to have flown by even with all of the craziness that has happened this year. We have surely seen Pluto working in action as there are many secrets and scandals that have come to light in order to help us evolve. This solstice isn’t as exciting as 2020’s Winter Solstice, we will see more changes. As Venus stationed retrograde on the 19th, right during our full moon, we are given a chance to look at things differently. Sometimes the speed bumps we come to in life are actually opportunities to dodge a bullet. Many times we get discouraged because something did not turn out exactly the way we perceived it would play out as it may have a different spin to it.

12-21-21 equals 3 which is all about creation, joy, self expression, play and fun, flexibility, beauty and social connection.

Through the many ages this time of year was celebrated many different ways. It is said the whole month of December and even half way into January was the time to honor Poseidon -- going back all the way to the Mycenaean times. This is also the time of year to honor Saturn at Saturnalia. Saturn is one misunderstood planet. As it represents limits, it can be a definite challenge for those that do not fully understand the importance of limits. Saturn is called the Father of the zodiac as he tells us when we have gone too far. His energy is that of a parent, as it wants the best for you. This meeting that Saturn and Uranus have been having is pushing us to make those uncomfortable changes because it seems we are stuck in some way. Change is not always easy as many times we leave the warm snuggly place to go into the unknown where there is no same ole same ole. Change helps us grow, become smarter, stronger, wiser, to evolve and do better. As I sit here and look at all of the different celebrations that are had this time of year, I notice something - regeneration. Demeter, the Earth Mother, Poseidon, the Sea God, and Dionysus, the rebirth of life - the nights have grown longer and the Earth is barren, and rebirth of life will come all mimicking the natural process of our lives. This dark half of the year reminds us to regenerate our Self, to nourish and conserve ourselves to keep us healthy.

Even as the Christain’s have adopted this time of year to celebrate their God, Jesus, we are shown a different type of regeneration, that of the soul.

Venus retrograde in Capricorn is calling for us to renovate our inner Self - our beliefs, values, and relationships. And we are looking at the bigger structures in our life as well, those places we deem of authority. These are concepts that are no longer useful to us. Capricorn is Earth, and at this time, I am seeing her as Demeter and it feels as if she is a part of our review process. There have been so many things that have pulled us away from our connection to the Earth, our Mother and Divine Feminine. Not only her, you see, it has damaged the Father by making him a widower denying him of his love. So, how can we have this regeneration or rebirth if we are missing the Mother? How can we truly have creation if we do not have the fertile ground (womb) which is needed for rebirth? I will say that nothing will be accomplished without harmonic resonance - without compassion there can be no understanding. Maybe it’s Jupiter whispering in my ear but I can imagine a world where the majority has given up the BS that is pushed on us by those who reportedly are supposed to protect us.

This past year the Celestial Heavens has worked with us all year on our Karma, offering us energies to cut our self free from the bondage that we are in. To release the old outdated ways that harm instead of heal, that separate instead of bring together, that pushes war instead of peace.

Why is it when we speak of peace many feel like they have to add in not the utopian ideas? But why cant we? I understand that we need to be grounded, yes, but the Age of Aquarius is the time of the visionary. It is a time to look forward with child-like wonder and see the great possibilities that could be. It sounds airy-fairy because we have others in our world that do not want to share, they want their ways to be mainstream and that just is not going to work. Let heaven and nature sing…..

One of the phrases we hear a lot is “As above, so below”. It seems a lot of spiritual paths encourage one to live in the upper chakras, it's time to bring the energy down to the Earth. It is time to not only consider our Mother that we live upon but also our health. Many of us Americans are unhealthy. It is time to deal with our bodies, our emotional health, and spiritual health. It’s time to unchain ourselves from the old ways and to relearn actual history so we do not repeat it. It’s time to get out to the sacred places and to feed your soul. It’s time to evolve and progress in our lives - ways that are of highest good. Truth has to deal with our level of consciousness, it is different at deeper levels, so be kind to yourself. Your inner work is so important in order to free yourself from the bondage that has been placed upon us. Personal health also includes boundaries which are a good thing.

For the past six months the days have been getting shorter and the nights longer. After the Winter Solstice, the light will begin to grow guiding us to new hope and rebirth. The light half of our year will begin on Beltane, six months from now, so we should have much done by then.

Your body is holy, it is your temple, please care for it. Be authentically you, expand and explore as it is time to bring yourself back to your Self.
